Whiston Heritage Society Illustrated Talk

A Ramble Round Old Whiston

Whiston Heritage Society are holding an illustrated talk celebrating the history of our village. Entry is free and open to every one. The talk will consist of a discussion and presentation of photographs. Please see www.whiston-heritage-society.co.uk for more details.

Confirmation Course

 

A five week confirmation course across our Mission Partnership will begin on the 16th April. Furthermore, our Confirmation Service is due to take place on Thursday 23rd May at St Cuthbert's Church, Herringthorpe. For more details, please speak to Revd Neil; and please keep all those preparing for confirmation in your prayers.

 



Skydive for Organ Cenenary

Hannah Fretwell - a member of our choir - is performing a tandem skydive on Monday 27th May to raise funds for the Church Organ restoration fund (as part of it's centenary celebrations later this year).

She is currently looking for sponsorship so, if you would like to support her in her endeavours, then please complete the sponsorship form which is available at the back of church.

Santa Hat

- Church Christmas Lunch -

1st December 2011; 12.30 p.m. at the Carlton Park Hotel, Moorgate Road; Rotherham.

If you would like to participate in the Christmas lunch the cost (including gratuity) will be £12 and payment is needed by the end of September. Please sign the sheet at the back of Church to register your interest.

Thank you A big thank you to everybody for your support of the summer fair on July 9th (as referenced below). We have raised the fantastic amount of ₤1177.63 which will be shared equally between the Women's Refuge in Rotherham and the Diocesan Parish Supprt fund.

Congratulations!

Well done to Gill Milpass, who has raised over ₤2,000 climbing Mt Snowdon to raise money for the Severn Oak Hospice Shrewsbury (in memory of her late father Graham Cook). Gill has placed further details of this at the back of church and copies are available for everyone.


Christian Aid Week

A big thank you is extended to everyone who helped deliver and collect the envelopes; as well as those who counted the subsequent revenues. The total raised so far stands at ₤431.83.
