The Church Organ
The Church Organ is the gift of Mrs Eliza Rowdon Hall. She donated money for it in memory of Walter Russell Hall as well as her parents. The organ has now been the centrepiece of worship here at St Mary Magdalene for over 100 years and this inevitably lead to the instrument suffering from wear and tear. So, in the early 2010s, the church worked hard for three years to raise funds for the organ's upkeep. Refurbishments were carried out in late 2013 and early 2014. A new blower was fitted to the instrument; it's pipes were removed, cleaned and restored - before being returned to their original positions; whilst decades-old asbestos was also removed. The newly-restored organ was re-dedicated by the then Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Stephen Croft, in a special service on 18th May 2014.
